With so many different finance options available, here are some of the major types of car finance and there key features to help you make the right choice for your circumstances.

Contract Purchase

This is the right type of finance for customers who would like to purchase the vehicle without taking all the depreciation risk.  The customers enters into a fixed monthly payment agreement where they also state how many miles they plan to cover during the length of the agreement. At the end of the agreement the customer can pay the already agreed final payment to purchase the vehicle or simply return the vehicle to the finance company

Hire-Purchase/Lease-Purchase

This type of finance is for customer who want to keep the vehicle longer than the term of the loan. The customer makes fixed monthly repayments until the final repayment when you then take ownership of the car.  With lease purchasing, this last payment may be higher in order to reduce the monthly payments for the majority of the agreement. 

Personal Contract Purchase (PCP)/Personal Contract Hire (PCH) 

Ideal for customer who want a cost effective and hassle free way of financing a vehicle. The customer has the choice whether to choose a full maintenance or non-maintenance option.
This type of finance requires the customer to make fixed monthly repayments, however this time when your finance agreement is up, you have one of three options. 

1. You can pay off the deferred amount in full and take ownership of the car outright.
2. Use the car in part exchange for a new car.
3. Hand back the car to finance company without making the final repayment and look at buying a different car.
